Kenai Peninsula Borough Comprehensive Plan Update
We managed an update
of the Kenai
Peninsula Borough’s Comprehensive Plan
with assistance from the McDowell Group, Ecotrust, Kittelson
& Associates, and Davis & Hibbitts.
The Borough
encompasses over 25,000 square miles and numerous
small communities in southeastern Alaska. Tasks included updating
information about existing conditions, future trends, issues, goals and policies related to land use, economy, population, public
facilities, and environmental protection; conducting an intensive
public outreach program, including over 55 public and community group
meetings; and assisting with Borough Planning Commission and Assembly
adoption processes. We developed and maintained a project Web site
that provided a more detailed description of the project and was a major
