Striving to reach consensus is much more difficult, but more satisfying in the long run, than just counting ayes and nays where there are obvious winners and losers. COC has designed and managed vision projects for Anchorage, Alaska; Seattle, Washington; Clackamas County, Oregon; Washington County, Oregon; Gresham, Hood River, Medford and Portland, Oregon; and many other communities. Whether the issues are growth, transportation, housing, education, or other matters of concern, we facilitate processes that bring together people of disparate interests and help them reach general agreement or consensus. Participants learn from each other while negotiating solutions, without the divisiveness that comes from having to choose sides and absolute winners and losers.
