COC takes part in OXY/PDX Leadership Breakfast
Kirstin Greene and Jonathan Stavros represented Cogan Owens Cogan at the OXY/PDX leadership breakfast hosted by Sustainable Harvest on Monday, July 9. COC is one of six organizations participating in Occidental College’s first year of an internship program created to allow its Pacific Northwestern students access to local work experience that expands on their liberal arts education. At the leadership breakfast, Kirstin along with two other business leaders in the Portland community participated in a professional panel moderated by Sarah Newhall. The panel shared the message of overcoming the anxiety of graduation and finding the right job. Kirstin emphasized the importance of exploring different work to find a passion as she had done during her path to COC. Later, Jonathan shared with the local business leaders and fellow students the beginning stages of his research project that focuses on techniques for overcoming barriers and engaging communities in pursuit of diversity and economic opportunity. COC is proud to be a member of the OXY/PDX internship program and is excited to see how these interns influence the development of the Portland as well as other Pacific Northwestern communities in the future.
